Good luck, Kit-tens.

Good luck finding your forever home.  I’ll miss you.

Let it go
Let it roll right off your shoulder
Don’t you know
The hardest part is over
Let it in,
Let your clarity define you
In the end
We will only just remember how it feels.

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders,
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain…

Let it go
Let it roll right off your shoulder
Don’t you know
The hardest part is over
Let it in,
Let your clarity define you
In the end
We will only just remember how it feels

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders,
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain

Let it slide,
Let your troubles fall behind you
Let it shine
Until you feel it all around you
And I don’t mind
If it’s me you need to turn to
We’ll get by,
It’s the heart that really matters in the end

Our lives are made
In these small hours
These little wonders,
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away,
But these small hours,
These small hours still remain

All of my regret
Will wash away some how
But I can not forget
The way I feel right now

In these small hours
These little wonders
These twists & turns of fate
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away but these small hours
These small hours, still remain,
Still remain
These little wonders
These twists & turns of fate
Time falls away
But these small hours
These little wonders still remain.

Breakfast in Bed

Late last week I noticed feral cat Chloe was limping.  It was very bad Saturday morning so I took her to the emergency vet; she came home later that day and is recovering from five abcessed wounds in her leg.

She’s been the perfect patient, rolling to her side and getting chin scritchies when it’s time for the warm compress.  She’s transitioned well to a litter box.  Hopefully the swelling is all soft tissue injury and not an injury to the bones of her elbow.  Bone injury = surgery.

Chloe looking mean, though she’s really a sweetie.

Ramblings on Inauguration Day

It’s about two hours before swearing in. I’ve finally found a site to watch live via webcast. A lot of sites aren’t loading. I’m sure there are millions of people trying to watch and on any given day here at work there isn’t enough bandwith to watch anything. And I wouldn’t be surprised that it becomes blocked for the amount we’re attempting to use.

But then again, I may be the only person in this building to be interested in this. So many people here voted for McCain. So many people here still think Bush did a good job. So many seemingly incapable of changing.

I wish today would end the litany of racist comments and hateful things I’ve heard here, but I know it won’t. These people have lived in a cloud of hate their entire lives; one day and one person isn’t going to change them. And that’s sad.
